25 tons of history: the 2,000-year-old mikveh was hoisted into the air

A mikveh from the Second Temple period was uncovered in the Karmi Gat neighborhood of Kiryat Gat, revealing a Jewish settlement that had not been known until now. To preserve it during the works, officials from the Antiquities Authority disconnected it from the ground and moved it whole using a giant crane.
