Privacy Policy
Your privacy matters to us. This page explains how The Bright Side handles your information.
Data Collection
We do not require you to create an account or provide personal information. Measuring how the site is used happens entirely in Google Analytics. On our own side we keep just two things, and neither can identify you: a count of how many story opens each article has received, which is what builds the Trending row, and — only if you turn on weekly notifications — a random identifier for that subscription. We never sell or share any of it.
Cookies
We set no cookies of our own. Your language preference, a count of your visits, and the notification identifier all live in your browser's local storage and never leave your device unless named above. Google Analytics sets its own cookies (_ga and similar) on every visit to measure site usage.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used. It is the only place we measure that, so it sees more than we ever kept ourselves: the pages you visit, the stories you open, your device and browser, your approximate location, and how you found us. Content Sources
We import news articles from publicly available RSS feeds provided by third-party news publishers. These feeds are freely offered by the sources for syndication purposes. We do not scrape or otherwise extract content beyond what is made available through these feeds.
Third-Party Services
We link to external news sources for full articles; once you leave our site, the privacy policy of the destination site applies. Google Analytics is the one third-party service we use ourselves, and it is the only place any record of how you use the site is stored.
Your Rights
Clearing your browser's local storage and cookies removes your language preference, your visit count, and the notification identifier. Since we hold no account or personal data on our side, there is nothing else to delete or export.
