Chickahominy Riverfront Park in Williamsburg, Virginia

Just a few miles from Jamestown, Chickahominy Riverfront Park sits at the edge of a tidal river that has changed remarkably little since English colonists first explored it in 1607. Bald cypress trees rise from dark water, great blue herons stalk the shallows, and marshes stretch into the distance. Remove the occasional fishing boat, and the view is not so different from what the Powhatan people would have recognized more than four centuries ago.  The Chickahominy occupies a rare place in the Chesapeake watershed. Unlike many rivers that have been heavily developed, much of its tidal corridor remains lined with forests and freshwater marshes. The result is a large tidal cypress swamp ecosystem, where saltwater from the James River meets freshwater flowing from inland Virginia. That blend creates an unusually rich habitat for fish, birds, turtles, and other wildlife, making the river both an ecological treasure and a living window into Virginia’s past. Chickahominy Riverfront Park serves as the gateway to that landscape. Its boat ramps, kayak launches, fishing pier, campground, and waterfront trails make it possible to explore the river in myriad ways. While many visitors come to fish for bass, catfish, or crappie, others drift quietly through backwater creeks where the only sounds are woodpeckers, frogs, and the splash of turtles slipping into the water.

Full Statham ahead

In modern action cinema, Jason Statham has become one of the most recogniseable faces of the genre. Unlike many other actors, he seems willing to take on just about any kind of action production, whether it is big or small-budget, successful or not.
