A forgotten museum fossil could change the story of the dinosaurs' origins

The previously unknown species, which lived about 240 million years ago, was discovered thanks to a re-examination of fossils collected in Tanzania more than 60 years ago. The find links rock sequences in Africa and South America and raises new questions about the age of the oldest fossils attributed to dinosaurs.
