In "The Lost Island" two friends set out on a journey to a magical island populated by creatures from Filipino mythology, trying to understand what happened to them on the night they lost their memory. Along the way the film jumps between teen comedy, fantasy, horror, anime, and a coming‑of‑age story, somehow managing to tie it all together. It's packed to the brim and sometimes almost exhausting, but also funny, original and moving. Most of all, it has a big heart and a friendship story that's hard not to connect with.
