25 tons of history in the air: a roughly 2,000-year-old mikvah was moved intact from Karmel Gat

The mikvah from the Second Temple period, uncovered in excavations at Karmel Gat by the Antiquities Authority, was detached from the ground, reinforced and hoisted by a massive crane for a complex preservation operation. Upon completion of the development works, it is expected to be returned to the site and integrated into the neighborhood's public space.
